CYIA is a program designed to train you and a team of other young people in effective and engaging ways to teach children about God.

What is the commitment?
• Pre-Training – Online training to learn the Wordless Book as a method to share the Gospel. Prior to training camp, a Wordless Book evaluation must be passed, and study questions must be completed.
• Training Camp – Held at Camp Good News in Afton, NY – Monday, June 30 – Saturday, July 5, this training will help you learn to present the Gospel clearly on a child’s level and how to lead a dynamic club ministry for kids. After this training, you will have opportunity to teach 5-Day Clubs with a team at various locations in NYC as well as be prepared to serve in your local church.
Who Can Attend CYIA?
If you have a heart for ministry and want to team up with other young people to reach the children in your church and community, then CYIA is for YOU! If you are young at heart and eager to serve the Lord, it's for YOU! Join us this summer for training and more!
The Requirements:
• Must be 14 years of age or older
• Must have a relationship with Jesus Christ
• Have a desire to learn to minister to children
• Complete the CYIA application

CEF of Greater New York City CYIA application is due Friday, May 2, 2025.
CYIA Training:
Location: Camp Good News in Afton, NY
Dates: Monday, June 30 – Saturday, July 5
(Online pre-training date is to be determined)
Cost: $360 – Fees cover full training, food and lodging, all ministry materials and supplies. ($100 due with application. Balance due June 1st.
If you volunteer with CEF at least one week during the summer, you may raise funds to cover your CYIA cost. Support can be sent to CEF of NYC and donors will receive a tax-deductible receipt. Contact CEF of NYC if you would like more information about this.
